Dear Ms. Flynn,

I write in support of the Center for Watershed Protection’s (CWP) proposal to provide technical assistance to the Friends of Roland Run to advance projects identified in the Northeastern Jones Falls Small Watershed Action Plan (SWAP) produced by Baltimore County.  The Grassroots SWAP Implementation project seeks to build off the momentum and progress of Baltimore County to further engage citizens, landowners, and others to advance implementation of important water quality projects.

The SWAP lays out goals and objectives that include citizen-based support and partnership to accomplish the vision for the watershed.  With this in mind, the Friends of Roland Run requested assistance from CWP and Blue Water Baltimore to help provide guidance, technical support, and training to advance projects important to community members.  This assistance will result in the advancement of high priority and high visibility upland projects identified in the SWAP, which support the County’s Roland Run stream restoration project currently in the construction phases.

We hope you will consider funding this project and look forward to your response. If you have any questions about this project, much of which is based in the 11th legislative district, please feel free to contact me at 410-841-3833.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Shelly Hettleman
